March 2009 March 5th, 2009 - I had my appointment with my neurologist to discuss my medications. My last MRI in December 2008 showed a new lesion since the one I had in the spring of the same year. Plus I had a mild relapse a few weeks ago. So basically within 12 months I've had 2 relapses while taking Copaxone and Avonex. Both Dr J and I agreed it was time to switch to another therapy since this combination was no longer working for me. I will be starting Tysabri monthly infusions in a few weeks. I'm not thrilled about the potential side effects (PML) but do think the benefits of this drug are worth the very minor risk. |
