May 2003

May 8th 2003 - This past week I had a blood panel drawn, an ultrasound done on my liver and met with a GI physician.  Looks like my AST and ALT are still increasing despite the fact that the Rebif dosage was cut in half.  The ultrasound revealed nothing unusual with my liver, kidneys or spleen but did show a gall bladder stone.  The stone was of interest but not really concern to the GI doctor.  It's something to keep track of in the future.  Basically it was the GI doctor's opinion that the increase in liver enzymes are due to the Rebif.  Now I'm waiting to hear back from my neurologist to see what the next step will be - do I continue on the 22, reduce to 8.8 or quit altogether?

May 10th, 2003 - My neurologist says to keep on the 22 mcg and have my liver enzymes checked again on the 21st.  I'm meeting with him next week and I can talk more in detail with him then.

May 21st, 2003 - I met with my neurologist and we decided to keep on 1/2 dose (22 mcg) of Rebif for another 4 weeks and retest my liver enzymes on the 4th of June.
